GOLDEN RULE
Treat others as you want to be treated.
To be more specific below outlines a few ground rules for participation in forums hosted by Southeast Conference.
Please respect these rules, and each other. The moderators of a Forum should have the final decision as to what constitutes an infringement of the rules as well as the responsibility to remove, edit, move or close those posts that they see as being harmful to a forum.
BE CIVIL
No personal attacks. Do not feel compelled to defend your honor in public. Posts containing personal attacks may be removed.
DO NOT POST PERSONAL INFORMATION
Even if a poster has all but drawn a map to his house, posting a real name or address is considered grounds for a permanent ISP ban. This could compromise someone's safety.
NO SHOUTING OR YELLING
No posting in ALL CAPS. This is considered shouting and is very rude, in addition to being hard on the eyes. Something may be in caps for emphasis (e.g. I did NOT want to go!), but no post should be entirely in all caps.
NO ADVERTISING
The purpose of a forum is a free and open exchange of ideas. It is understood that there are times when the idea itself requires that a product be mentioned, critiqued or evaluated. There are also times when the recommendation of a product is the answer to a posted problem. Blatant advertising on a forum, however, is rude. Such postings should be removed.
STAY ON TOPIC
Most of these groups are high-traffic and read by busy people, so please pay attention to the topic of your messages, and check that it still relates to the thread to which you are posting. Off-topic discussion should be taken to private email or chat forum.
IDENTIFY YOUR SUBJECT MATTER
Not everyone has time reading all forum postings. To ensure that your message reach the right people at timely manner, identify your subject matter clearly in the subject line. Subjects like a question and Mozilla problem are not very helpful.
